2. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for any content you upload, import, or read using StreamReader. You confirm that you have the legal right to access and use any material you load into the application, including but not limited to PDFs, EPUBs, and other documents.
3. Copyright & Intellectual Property
StreamReader does not host, store, or distribute copyrighted content on any server. All documents are processed and stored locally on your device. You agree not to use StreamReader to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
4. Project Gutenberg Content
Books available through the Browse feature are sourced from Project Gutenberg and are in the public domain. StreamReader is not affiliated with Project Gutenberg.
5. No Warranty
StreamReader is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy of text extraction, reading speed calculations, or any other functionality.
6. Limitation of Liability
StreamReader and its creators shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the application, including loss of data or any consequences of content uploaded by users.
7. Annotations Export
Exported annotations contain brief excerpts of text for personal reference and commentary purposes only, consistent with fair use principles. Exports are intended exclusively for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to use the export feature to reproduce substantial portions of copyrighted works or to redistribute exported annotations commercially.
8. Privacy
StreamReader processes all data locally in your browser. No personal data, reading history, or document content is transmitted to any server, except for Gutenberg book downloads which are fetched through our proxy.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of StreamReader after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
